Our Philosophy
We at El Camino believe in providing students with engaging, after-school enrichment experiences.
As a part of our commitment to language and learning, we value biliteracy, bilingualism and multiculturalism.
We focus on the benefits of multilingualism and what multiculturalism adds to our lives and experiences.
We strive to provide fun activities, friendly mascots, and compelling texts for young learners that will engage them in learning about language and culture.
Sessions
Each level is provided in 10-week sessions, during which children will learn with Mayito, the Guacamayo, and Lola, the Llama.
Our teachers use a natural approach to instruction, which focuses on communicative skills, both oral and written.
Students are immersed in the Spanish language and will build oral language skills through songs, games and hands-on activities.

Family Engagement
El Camino offers FREE seminars for the families of our students.
The seminars will help parents and families of students who are enrolled in our programs to support their students.
Learn how to engage your child in a new language to provide even greater opportunities and gains in their learning – even if you don’t speak Spanish! These engaging seminars are designed for both the students and their parents – brothers and sisters will probably want to join in on the fun!

The El Camino Difference
El Camino Spanish Classes are different than other after-school programs. We call this the El Camino Difference:
- Classes provide your child a fun and enriching learning environment
- All El Camino classes are taught by native Spanish speakers
- Children learn through engaging “adventures” with Mayito & Lola, the El Camino mascots.
- The research-based curriculum was developed and designed by an award-winning team of curriculum specialists
- Weekly communication is provided through a parent newsletter

What We Offer
Activities
- Travel with Mayito the Guacamayo & Lola the Llama on their adventures to learn about the types of homes people live in as they visit 6 countries!
- Adventures is a Level 1 session for children K-2 who are new to the Spanish Language
- Join Mayito the Guacamayo & Lola the Llama on an excursion through 6 different countries to learn about the foods that children eat around the world.
- Excursions is a Level 2 session for children K-5 who have already learned some Spanish basics (either by attending Adventures or through other Spanish classes/experiences).
- Beginning the fall of 2022, children will be able to venture with Mayito the Guacamayo & Lola the Llama on a journey through 6 different countries.
- Journeys will be a Level 3 session for children K-5 who have already learned some Spanish (either by attending Adventures & Excursions or through other Spanish classes/experiences).
